The Voice of Italian Pawnbroking since 1906
ASSOPEGNO is the national organisation of institutions operating in Italy’s pawnbroking sector. It was founded in Rome in 1906 by a number of credit institutions; in 1946, following the end of the Second World War, 64 credit institutions chose to revitalise the association, which has since represented the interests of this historic credit sector in the public sphere.
Assopegno was among the founding promoters of the international association. The pawnbroking sector is subject to the supervisory authority of the Banca d’Italia and its regulations. ASSOPEGNO members account for approximately 90% of all pawnbroking loans in Italy, and the organisation serves as a central hub of expertise for the sector.
It offers all members qualified legal assistance and advisory services, organises congresses and promotes specialist publications.
